This has been a very big week for my little girl. Kate has decided that she had been pretending to be a baby for far to long, she is a big girl now. The day after Halloween she just simply decided that it was time to:
1. Get herself back into a sitting position after rolling around on the floor
2. Crawl. Yep. She didn't scoot, army crawl or any of that baby business. She just plain started to crawl.
3. Say "Kate Kate". That is what we call her most of the time, I guess it was time for her to join in.
That's right folks, all in one day. I was just beginning to recover, I had baby-proofed things that she could crawl to, and moved items she could reach once she got there and had moved into her seated position.
So today, I had put the little monkey down for a "nap". (there was no napping going on. just crawling around her crib, talking to her mobile. you know, the usual.) I was busy cleaning the house and decided to check the monitor to see if she might have actually fallen asleep. When I looked at the screen, I couldn't see her. So I continued to focus on the screen, waiting to see some sort of movement indicating where she might have gone. That's when I saw it. She had pulled her self up to the side of her crib. (sigh) So I grabbed the video camera and off I went to bust her. I open her bedroom door and yep, there she was standing in her bed grinning at me. (let me stop here for just a minute. I know this type of things happens to all moms, but where did my tiny little baby go??? (sniffle sniffle) All of a sudden, she is gone and this, equally cute, super fun toddler has replaced her!!! What happened?) Well, I figured she wasn't going to sleep now so we went down stairs to call her father and report to him what I had just discovered. I sat her on the floor in front of me, and as I'm telling Mike this story, she looks up at me, says "yeah" and starts clapping.
Oh brother.........

Halloween
So for Halloween we weren't going to do much of anything. We had all been a little sick and Mike didn't want to get Kate a costume because "she can't even walk and doesn't know anything about trick-or-treating". I was planning on sitting home and handing out candy, if the Halloween Grinch would agree to that ;) But luckily, my wonderful sister-in-law Rachel (along with her amazing sisters who are so sweet to me! ) arranged for me to borrow a costume for Kate. So Mike didn't have much of an excuse to stay home!
Here is Kate getting ready to go see Uncle Dave and Aunt Rachel. We spent the afternoon with David and Rachel playing games and hanging out. We always have so much fun when we are together!
Here is my cute little Katie bug in her costume from Melissa, delivered by Crystal!
Kate was a really good sport. She didn't mind the costume at all and was just as happy as could be! It was a long night for her, but she is just such a sweet and happy baby that you never would have known it!
Rachel, Luke, David and Lance
Lance as "Panda Man" or Spider Man depending on how you choose pronounce it
Luke the Pirate with Aunt Crystal. This is the only picture I have of Crystal :( Her family look so awesome dressed up as pirates, I'm sad I didn't get a picture! Come to think of it, I don't have pictures of Melinda or Julie either! They all came over for the festivities.
David and Rachel's apartment complex was going to do a Trunk-or-treat and that is what we all planned on doing. But there wasn't much of a turn out (like 3 or 4 cars) So we all packed up and headed to the Mall.
Here is Super Man who was being hounded for his picture by a couple of his adoring fans. He didn't seem to mind though...in fact I think he kind of liked it
And this is Mike's little "ninja" right before she headed off to bed. It was a super fun night! Thanks for letting us borrow the wonderful costume Melissa, I owe you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we go again!
I know I know, it's been forever since I posted anything, story of my life!
My happy little girl!
Since David and Rachel have an apartment here in Salt Lake now it's been nice to spend time with them! The invited us to go swimming with them last weekend. Kate hadn't been in a pool yet and we thought for sure that she would hate it! Well much to our surprise, she LOVED it! She stayed in for almost an hour and was happy the whole time!
She thought her daddy was super funny!
Happy 4th of July!
Here is my little Katie after she rolled over for the first time...she was so proud of herself!!!

Play Date!
Ok, so you may or may not remember that I mentioned in my Lake Powell post from last summer, that a few weeks after we found out that I was pregnant, our good friends Brie and Brandon also found out that they were expecting. Our due dates were only 3 days apart! Well baby Braxton followed the rules and didn't arrive until he was supposed to. Kate and I went up to Layton last week to have lunch and do some shopping with Brie and Braxton. It was so fun to see them....I think they make a cute couple already ;)

Blessing Day
We blessed Kate on May 3rd. It was a beautiful day, and we are so lucky to have so many friends and family that love us enough to be to our ward by 9 am! Mike did such a great job blessing her and she even slept right through it.
My mom held on to my blessing dress,
I was so excited that Kate was able to wear it for her blessing too!
Kate with Oma/Grandma "D"
Kate with my mom's mom Neva and my dad's mom Geraldine.
Beautiful Grandma Ruth Ann
Great Grandpa Kinsman
It was such a crazy busy day that I forgot to take
pictures of her with her grandparents and great grandparents
and aunts and uncles, so on mothers day I tried to play catch up(I didn't do very well though)!
